Abstract

Epidemic process modeling is essential to make predictions of possible pandemics and to develop methods to control the propagation of infectious agents. The study of epidemic models in complex networks, considering a periodical transmission rate, is the goal of this project. A network model will be implemented to verify how connections patterns influence the evolution of the number of cases. We are especially interested in analyzing how the assortativity and the community structure affects the fraction of infected subjects in the SIR and SIS seasonal models. This work will allow a better comprehension of epidemic processes in networks considering seasonality since there are few studies on this topic.
