Abstract

The present project aims at the compositional characterization, via electronic probe and laser, of melt inclusions found in plagioclase and pyroxene crystals of the Paraná-Etendenka Province. This step is important to differentiate melt inclusions from possible embayments, which would not be possible if in the process of high-temperature homogenization (more traditional melt inclusion analysis technique).The identification of the composition of the inclusions will be used to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the forming magmas of Paraná-Etendeka Province, to contribute to the understanding of the environmental impacts that the formation of this feature may have caused.
