Abstract

Context: There is no evidence in the national and international literature to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life and on the variables related to the mental health of doctors and nursing professionals in the field of oncology. The results of this research may provide important subsidies to propose care strategies to these professionals at that time and after the period of the pandemic. Objective: To assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life, burnout and mental health of doctors and nursing professionals. Materials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study to be carried out at Fundação Pio XII - Barretos Cancer Hospital in its units I, Palliative Care (CP), Children and Youth Hospital and Rehabilitation (in the city of Barretos / SP); Jales Unit (Jales / SP), Porto Velho Unit (Porto Velho / RO). Doctors, nurses and nursing technicians from the referred units will participate in the research. It was estimated a sample of 1,083 participants who will answer the sociodemographic, work and self-care questionnaires, Coronavirus-19 impact scale, Oldenburg Burnout Inventory, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the quality of life assessment questionnaire - Whoqol-bref. For the application of data collection instruments, the SurveyMonkey® online program will be used. The analyzes will be carried out with the help of IBM-SPSS v.21.0 software. (AU)
