Abstract

Hospitalizations for Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions (ACSC) represent conditions that can be resolved in Primary Health Care services, which, when properly provided, would not require hospital care; being considered a performance indicator. Another important performance indicator for understanding the functioning of the health system is the hospital readmissions indicator, defined as the admission of a patient to the same institution, after a certain period of time. The analysis of the two indicators, simultaneously, allows to understand elements related to the organization and functioning of health services. Objective: To analyze the profile of readmitted patients with constant diagnosis in the list of Hospitalizations for Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions. Method: Analytical observational study, retrospective. Secondary data, originating from electronic database of clinical and administrative data and hospital records under study. It is a large hospital, with an important insertion in the Regional Health Department. All hospitalizations in 2019 will be eligible; the variables related to the patient and hospitalization will be analyzed using inferential statistics, using the Student's t test for numerical variables and the chi-square test for categorical variables, considering a significance level of 5%.
