Abstract

Adaptive Super-resolution (SR) over an array of cameras is a low-cost technique to render higher resolution images from a set of inexpensive cameras. It is successfully applied to Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), and it is complementary to that of acoustic emissions, already adopted in the national aeronautical industry. In this project, arrays of 3 x 3 cameras will be constructed, extending previous results, and state-of-the-art combinations of adaptive filters will be implemented in order to generate an imaging system able to capture high resolution visible and infrared images at low computational cost. Such a system should be able to provide sensitive information to localize potential damages in large structures: aeronautical, wind turbines, oil and gas, concrete structures, among others.
