Abstract

It is common for studies on the city of Sao Paulo and its urbanization processes to be limited in its central axis and its expansion in the East-West pivot, as well as the expansion of the traffic lines and their unfolding in the South District of São Paulo. However, studies on the North District need attention. This undergraduate research aims to investigate the urbanization phenomenon of the North District neighborhood, named Lauzane Paulista. To this end, it is necessary to investigate relations with the Savoy family, who is considered the promote of occupation and organization of the neighborhood, such as Lauzane Paulista Futebol Clube which had the role to interest and make people from the neighborhood practice the Breton sport. Thus, the present study contributes to understandings about urban history and social history not only in the North District, but as in São Paulo.
