Abstract

Biostimulants have the potential to improve plant development and consequently their productivity, as well as being an alternative to reduce the use of traditional inputs. Despite the benefits of applying biostimulants, the challenge is to understand the mode of action of these products so that their use can be rationalized according to the culture and its various phenological stages and the demands inherent in each one of them. Soybean crop is the most important food legume in the world, to maintain the quality of its protein composition, and the final amount of production, soybean must be nourished with nitrogen. This species meets its nutrient need through symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria of the genus Rhyzobium. The literature has reported that one of the benefits of biostimulants is to improve the efficiency of nitrogen use by altering the metabolism of this element in plants. The objective of this project is to study the mechanism of action of algae extract and protein hydrolyzate on the metabolism of nodulated soybean plants and to look for clues on how this occurs.
