Abstract

Workplace violence refers to offensive behaviors at work, which include unwanted sexual attention, violence threats, physical violence, and bullying. Despite frequence at nursing work and its negative influence at work environment and health it is a issue that deserves more investigation. In this way, this research aims to evaluate workplace violence against nursing hospital workers. It is a cross-sectional study that will be held in two public hospitals (a philanthropic and a teaching) in a country city in Sao Paulo, with nearly 250 thousand inhabitants, wirh nursing workers (nurses, auxiliaries, and technicians). We will use two questionnaires to data gathering: one for profile characterization and one for psyschosocial conditions analysis - the short version of Brazilian Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire II. Data analysis will include means, standard deviation and percentuals; all ethical considerations will be respected. This study can contribuite to undertand workplace violence against nursing hospital workers and, thus, help managers to make decisions and implement strategies to change reality.
