Abstract Introduction: gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is characterized by any degree of glucose intolerance, hyperglycemia and diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy. The relationship between DMG and the increased prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) is well established. Our research group has been developing clinical and experimental investigations looking for markers of hyperglycemic myopathy (2016 / 01743-5). However, the role of micronutrients ingested, circulating levels and the expression of their receptors is still unclear. General objective: to determine changes in the quantity and quality ingested in the levels of micronutrients selected as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc and iron, and also in the gene expression of its specific receptors in pregnant women with DMG and UI-EG in 2 moments of pregnancy. Patients andmethods: 60 pregnant women divided into 4 groups (continent DMG, incontinent DMG, without continent DMG and without incontinent DMG) will be evaluated in relation to anthropometry, biochemical insulin dosage, placental lactogen, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc and iron, as well as assessing oxidative stress by total antioxidant capacity between 24-28 gestational weeks and between 36-40 gestational weeks. In addition, gene and protein expression of receptors / channels related to vitamins (RXRA, SLC23A1, PXR) and minerals (TRPM6, MTF1 and sTfR) will be performed by quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) and Western Blot, respectively. Statistical analysis: the groups will be compared using multiple linear regression models considering the groups as independent variables and including the potential confounders for each response variable. Relationships will be considered statistically significant if p <0.05. The analysis will be performed with SPSS 21 or R-3.4.1 software. | |
