Abstract

Objectives: the general objective of the study is to investigate the sexual behavior of undergraduate students enrolled in courses at the University of São Paulo - campus Ribeirão Preto, as well as their knowledge about HIV/AIDS (forms of transmission, prevention and window period). As a specific objective it is intended to investigate the test-seeking behavior in the blood bank and its associated factors. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with a stratified random sample characterized as Closed Web Survey. The target population is the students enrolled in one of the eight units of the Universidade de São Paulo - Campus Ribeirão Preto (USP-RP). For methodological purposes, each one of these units is considered a stratum. The questionnaire will be built and made available on the RedCap electronic platform. The questionnaire will be composed of sociodemographic variables for characterization of the sample, a Scale of objective and subjective knowledge about or HIV, a Scale of attitudes about use of condoms, a questionnaire of blood donation practice and a sexual risk behavior score. A link to participate will be sent to all those enrolled in undergraduate courses of USP-RP through institutional e-mail. A minimum sample size in each stratum was calculated to guarantee the best accuracy under planned inferences. The minimum sample size calculated considering all the strata and the proportion of enrolled in each second course or sex of 334 participants.
