Abstract

The Infant Motor Profile and the Standardized Infant NeuroDevelopmental Assessment are instruments for assessing child development, assessing aspects of motor, neurological and socioemotional behavior, developed by Dr. Mijna Hadders-Algra, of the Institute of Developmental Neurology. These assessment instruments aim to identify early risks for motor and neurological changes, such as cerebral palsy, and behavioral and socioemotional changes, such as an intellectual disability or behavioral disorder. The objective of the internship abroad is to promote the improvement of theoretical and practical contents regarding child development; improve knowledge about assessment instruments, with reliable psychometric properties, worldwide highlights, which may be accessible to the Brazilian population; analyze, treat and interpret data from the Direct Doctorate project; write manuscripts and abstracts; monitor the development of projects carried out at the Developmental Neurology Institute during the internship period; provide experience in academic partnerships and apply in Brazil the knowledge obtained abroad. It is hoped to enrich the student's training as a researcher, add new knowledge to the projects developed with her research group in Brazil, as well as reaffirming the partnership established between the responsible researcher and the supervisor abroad.
