Abstract

This scientific initiation project seeks to understand the trade of goods as a situation of informal work generated by the precariousness of work, when inside the CPTM train lines, in the metropolis of São Paulo, using line 8 (diamond) as a cutout. The research has two main points, the first being to study the object, how this phenomenon occurs inside the trains starting from the theory of the work crisis from the perspective of Kurz (1995) and Scholz (2008), and the second as a research question, observe whether or not there is a relation with the increase in unemployment that the country faced in the last decade with the crisis, worked on in the books by Singer (2018) and Carvalho (2018). The research will also rely on an analysis of the center-periphery relation, in which lines the phenomenon is most recurrent and for what reason, in addition to tracing the level of inspection, job availability and the profile of residents, thus making it possible to verify the reasons for the subjects to submit to such activity. The understanding of these points will depend especially on the field research carried out on the CPTM train line, along with the use of the intended bibliography to understand the precariousness of the work, and thus to know the reality of these individuals who risk themselves daily thanks to the practice of irregular trade and who it is behind the great interest in keeping this phenomenon illegal.
