Abstract

Predictions stand out today as one of the most important tools in terms of well-being and human success. Through them it is possible to take action before a certain event occurs, thus avoiding unwanted consequences. For example, it is possible to make predictions of episodes such as the indication of a early stage epidemic and the spread of fake news. In this sense, it is also possible to make predictions in the so-called science of success, which seeks to predict the potential success of a given work, be it a film, a research, a book or any other type of work. Motivated by this scenario, the purpose of this research project is to investigate the use of complex networks and network measures in the task of characterizing and identifying styles and stories that are closely related to the fact of a particular work - in this case, a book - establish itself as a successful example.
