Abstract

Implementation research have been understood as an important means of overcoming the persistent gap between the knowledge and the practice experienced in health institutions around the world. Although it is a prominent field that receives special attention from prestigious institutions for research sponsorship, its realization is still incipient in Brazil. Materials that support the construction of implementation research projects are not registered in Brazilian literature, so that health researchers without access to specialist knowledge in Implementation Science have the difficult task of identifying and assimilating design guidelines and recommendations arranged in different international sources in order to design their research. This task is not always successful, which can lead to designs of low methodological rigor and limited impact for publication and reorientation of practices. When faced with a similar reality, a few years ago, a group of researchers from London coordinated an initiative that resulted in the creation of the ImpRes Tool, a tool to improve the quality of research projects in implementation science. When applied to 15 projects in different areas, the tool proved to be potent in identifying project areas where essential elements of the implementation survey were not aligned, and consequently, to improve the quality of the projects. Thus, this project proposes the cross-cultural validation, dissemination and evaluation of the use of the ImpRes tool in the Brazilian context and its retrospective application in an implementation research developed by the Laboratório Interfaces in partnership with the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo.
