Abstract The main objective of the research is to verify if the concept of "coup d'état" can be used to describe the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff in 2016. First, a bibliographic survey will be carried out in order to identify the main theses and explanations about the referred process political, in three views: 1st), the one that highlights institutional problems - crisis of representativeness, disputes in the political coalition system (FREITAS, SILVA, 2019); 2) the focus on internal issues - economic crisis, choices of the political platform, etc. (FILHO, MORAIS, 2018; SINGER, 2018); 3rd) the emphasis on international issues, in particular, the idea of colorful revolution or neo-Golpism (LEIRNEIR, 2020; SOUZA, 2020). Our research problem is to understand how Dilma's dismissal process was characterized. The idea is that with the proposed mapping, it is possible to systematize the main debates on the political crisis and the 2016 impeachment process, in order to understand which concepts of coup d'état are used by the bibliography and which are the main variables mobilized for each interpretation which at first we categorize as: 1) institutional "coup"; 2) internal, 3) a colorful revolution. | |
