Abstract

Hypsizigus marmoreus, also known as Buna-Shimeji, is the most consumed mushroom in Japan. It is appreciated for its medicinal properties and nutritional value. Its production normally uses agro-industrial residues such as sawdust, rice straw or wheat. These, after production, are discarded because they do not have a specific use. Thus, the present work aims to elucidate the best dosages of different substrates in the production of Buna-Shimeji; in addition, to guarantee a succession of production using its residual compost as a substrate in the production of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) seedlings together with the addition of growth-promoting rhizobacteria. In this way, it is possible to maintain a circular economy, with technological impact, cost reduction, and increased sustainability. (AU)
