Abstract

Comparing hashes is an important operation in digital security, but tedious and error-prone when hashes are in the form of hexadecimal strings. This project aims to advance the state of the art in comparison of hashes with animations. The hashify software, resulting from a Capstone Project from IME-USP, will be used as a base. An extensive performance evaluation of hashify will be realized and the algorithm implemented in it will be ported to websites, allowing user passwords to be entered into the algorithm. The expected results are a report of the impact that the software causes on mobile devices and the prototype of a website that allows users to verify that their passwords are correct without disclosing them to third parties.
