Abstract

Vale do Ribeira has an economy based on agriculture, with predominantly family production, mainly banana and pupunha, with coffee being a possible alternative to diversify agricultural production in the region. The objective of this work was to verify the influence of climatic conditions in Vale do Ribeira on the vegetative growth and reproductive development of different arabica coffee cultivars. The experiment will be conducted at UNESP in the city of Registro-SP, where the coffee seedlings were implanted in February 2018, in randomized blocks, with three replications, with plots of eight plants, with six central plants being considered as a useful plot, in the spacing of 3.0 m between lines by 0.60 m between plants. The variables analyzed will be stem diameter, number and length of plagiotropic branches, number of nodes, plant height, crown diameter, productivity, percentage of cut fruit, uniform maturation, the incidence of pests, and diseases. The climatic factors analyzed will be rainfall, air temperature, relative humidity and cloudiness, photosynthetically active radiation, and global solar radiation. The significance of the data at 5% probability will be verified by the F test and from the detection of significant differences, the test of means by Scott Knott will be performed. The characterization of the weather conditions observed throughout the experimental period, which will influence the vegetative growth and production, will be evaluated from the averages of the climatic elements of the air temperature, relative humidity of the air and frequency of the cloudy conditions, and the accumulated rainfall, which will be obtained using the Microcal Origin 6 software.
