Abstract

Considering the assumption that innovation is paramount for the competitiveness of countries, regions, and companies, this project will focus on innovation in Brazilian innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, which are extremely relevant for the development of innovation in the Country. Concomitantly with the increasing focus on innovation, especially in start-ups, social and environmental issues start to emerge as one of the main factors for the success of businesses, since companies that do not comply with regulation or do not present proactiveness in sustainability-related issues tend to face more problems competing with others that do have such profile. Thus, the main purpose of this research is I) to identify the most relevant indicators for the development of innovation in Brazilian innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems; and II) to specifically analyze the importance and influence of socioenvironmental indicators in the innovation of these ecosystems. As result, I expect this research to lead to several studies to be submitted to high impact international journals, and to serve as basis for the creation of public policies focused on innovation.
