Abstract

Endodontic repair sealers based on calcium silicate are presented in ready-to-use or powder / liquid formulas. Under clinical conditions of neutral pH, these materials must have bioactivity and low solubility. However, the variation in pH conditions can affect the physical and chemical properties of these sealers. The objective of this study will be to evaluate the volumetric and surface stability of calcium silicate-based repair sealers in ready-to-use clinical presentations and powder / liquid, at different pHs, using micro-CT and SEM / EDS. Human teeth will be filled and retrofitted with a 3 mm deep cavity. The samples will be divided into 2 groups: ready-to-use repair sealer Bio-C Repair (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil) against MTA HP powder / liquid (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil), and subdivided according to the PBS Solution contact with pHs 5.7 and 12. In micro-CT, the sealers will be analyzed for porosity, marginal adaptation in the dentin / cement interaction and volumetric change of the materials after 24 hours and 30 days of exposure in acid, neutral and alkaline medium. In SEM / EDS, the images obtained will be evaluated qualitatively and chemically on the material / dentin surfaces at the three types of pHs. The results will be evaluated statistically by the ANOVA method and later interpretations for the conclusion of the study. The results will be submitted to the appropriate statistical analysis with a 5% significance level. (AU)
