Abstract We intend to investigate the manner in which Heidegger puts the question of Nothing in two moments of his thought. The first concerns the lecture Was ist Metaphysik? (1929), related to the proposal of Sein und Zeit's existential analytic in which the question of Nothing emerges grounded by the question of Angst and by the treatment of the question of Being based on the phenomenological-hermeneutic approach towards modern existence. The second pertains to the way in which Heidegger puts the question of nothing in the first part of his summer course Einleitung in der Metaphysik. In this second moment, the reflection concerning Nothing is grounded on poetical language and on the history of being: it emerges strengthened as a joint effort of thought and language no longer limited by the scope of existential analytic nor by the question of angst. In this moment the question of nothing draws near to the subject of the Sacred concerning the establishment of what Heidegger considers to be the task of thinking. To achieve that aim we shall examine some of his later texts, such as Wozu Dichter (1946), Nachwort zu Was ist Metaphysik (1943), Einleitung zu Was ist Metaphysik (1949). The discrepancy in the way that Heidegger puts the question echoes the great amount of problems that appeared after Sein und Zeit, as well as the deepening of his reflection and the more direct interlacing between the issues of hermeneutics and the scope of both history and language. Therefore, the core of this research consists of understanding the meaning behind these different moments and Heidegger's path between both. (AU) | |
