Abstract

This Project propounds the investigation of five ukiyo-e graphic prints made in the Edo period, in Japan, through the study of graphic processes and design analysis according to the Semiotics of Japanese Culture. The emphasis of the project is to understand de subjects and codes existing in these prints, as well as the esthetic and historical references, its relations with the other cultures, and the amplitude of its society. Willing to understand the consistency of the relation intersemiotic between the culture and the graphic project, also its repercussion in the design and visual arts fields.(AU)
