Abstract

The focus of the present study will be the application of the SPOD (Spectral Proper Orthogonal Decomposition) method and resolvent analysis in transitional flows over flat plates, not yet studied by this method, from spatio-temporal databases of simulations already existing in the laboratory. The aim will be to better characterize free turbulence transition (bypass) mechanisms not yet fully understood. With these same methods, the effects of the leading edge on the transition over flat plates will be studied. (AU)
