Effect of different surface treatments on the bond strength of the characterization layer of zirconies of different translucent levels

Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the adhesion of zirconia surfaces of different levels of translucency to the characterization layer, through different surface treatments. 135 zirconia slices (10 x 10 x 3 mm) will be prepared and distributed according to the type of zirconia and surface treatments. One side of the zirconia surface will be polished using granulation sandpaper (400, 600, 800 and 1200#) under constant irrigation with water. The slices will be randomly distributed according to the groups: P - Polishing the surface of the zirconia; J - Surface blasting with Al2O3 (50 ¼); S - Silicate surface of samples with Rocatec Plus (110 ¼m) (3M). Cylinders (3 mm in diameter x 3 mm in height) of stain will be made followed by glaze on the surfaces of the samples. The shear test will be carried out with the aid of a universal machine for mechanical tests EMIC, with a load cell of 100 Kgf and 1 mm / min, and steel wire (Ø 0.3 mm) will be used in the form of a loop. The samples will be stored and analyzed under a stereomicroscope to classify the type of failure. Representative samples will be metallized and analyzed in a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Data will be subjected to statistical treatment by analysis of variance, ANOVA 2 factors and Tukey test (± = 5%). (AU)
