Abstract

The present research project proposes to analyse, dialectically, the relations and contradictions between family farming production and the production model of globalised scientific agriculture, with regard to the agricultural use of the territory of the municipalities of MATOPIBA in Bahia. To this end, the research will analyse the overlapping and conflict between the different territorial divisions of labour, one linked to agribusiness and agents of the upper circuit of the agrarian economy, and the other linked to family farming and agents of the lower circuit; in municipalities which, besides presenting significant productive specialisation of agribusiness, are inserted in a planning region - MATOPIBA - focused on the diffusion of globalised agribusiness. The justification for this proposal is based on the fact that globalised scientific agriculture imposes a corporative use of territory on these municipalities, corroborating productive regional specialisation, marginalising family farming.
