Abstract

Even with the advent of studies that address methods of assessment, monitoring, and treatments for individuals affected by pain, Brazilian universities present a gap in relation to the approach and transmission of knowledge to undergraduate students in the health area. In view of this reality, this study is necessary, as it seeks to assess the knowledge about neurophysiology, beliefs, and attitudes about the pain of graduate students in the area of health in Brazil. This is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The study sample will consist of students from ten bachelor's degree courses in the health area of public and private universities in Brazil, which are recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). To assess knowledge about pain, students should fill out the identification form, the scale of satisfaction with the offer of content about pain, the Neurophysiological Pain Questionnaire, and the Beliefs and Attitudes towards Pain Questionnaire. Therefore, it is expected that students have knowledge about neurophysiology, beliefs, and attitudes about pain. Furthermore, it is expected to encourage the implementation of the study of pain in undergraduate courses so that students, when graduated, can identify and provide comprehensive care to individuals with pain.
