Abstract

The project is aimed at understanding the perceptions of risk of HIV infection and Treponema pallidum in the population that makes use of the specialty medical service of a university hospital in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The work is justified by the lack of knowledge about these perceptions in this population, and it is essential to have such data for better control of syphilis and HIV/AIDS in the interior of the state of São Paulo. This is an observational cross-sectional study. Users of the Medical Specialties Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu, from September 2021 to September 2022, will be invited to participate in the study. Data collection will be carried out by the researcher himself, through a semi-structured and previously tested interview. Individuals who attend medical appointments during the study period and who agree to participate in the study, signing the Informed Consent Term, will be included. Individuals under 18 years of age will be excluded. The data obtained will be entered into an Excel spreadsheet. Initially, a descriptive analysis will be carried out with the calculation of mean and standard deviation for quantitative variables and frequencies and percentages for categorized variables. The questionnaire analysis will be done by studying the items by associating the answers with the variables of interest. All analyzes will be done by the SAS for Windows program. (AU)
