Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between morbidity and mortality due to Covid-19 and race in the state of São Paulo. This is an ecological study of secondary data analysis in health, where sociodemographic (race/color, age and sex) and epidemiological (confirmed case of Covid-19 and outcome) variables will be investigated. This research will be carried out in the state of São Paulo. The data will be collected from the website of the São Paulo State Department of Health and from the website of the State Data Analysis System Foundation, in addition to being obtained from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The data will be analyzed through descriptive statistics and through the R Program, where calculations of the Odds Ratio (OR) of the variables in question and chi-square tests will be performed to study the association with categorical data. For all comparisons, a significance level of 5% will be adopted. This research does not require consideration by the Research Ethics Committee since the data are available on publicly accessible websites.
