Abstract

Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) are self-report instruments used to collect subjective aspects from the patient's perspective, related to symptoms, quality of life, functional status, values, preferences, goals for health care, sociodemographic characteristics and, previous history. In addition, it is of great importance in clinical practice, such as identifying problems that could go unnoticed, standardizing assessments, monitoring treatment results over time, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The present study has as main objective to investigate the use of PROM type instruments among Brazilian physiotherapists who work with patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as to identify the most used PROMs among Brazilian physiotherapists, to identify the perception of professionals about their knowledge, preparation, and self-efficacy. to use PROMs among Brazilian physiotherapists, identify the main barriers and facilitators for the use of PROMs in clinical practice among Brazilian physiotherapists and, investigate the frequency of use of clinical and functional tests among Brazilian physiotherapists. The study will be carried out by an online questionnaire using the Google Forms tool. The form will consist of 4 steps: sample characterization; detailing the most used PROMs and clinical/functional tests; barriers and facilitators; beliefs. The sample of participants will be Brazilian physiotherapists who have been working in clinical practice for at least 2 years and who have experience in caring for patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions with a weekly frequency of at least 8 hours. Descriptive statistics will be used (mean, standard deviation), as well as data analysis in percentages and frequencies. Chi-square analysis (p <0.05) will be used to compare differences between percentages. The SPSS software (IBM, version 22) will be used for the statistical analysis of subgroups. (AU)
