Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the fasting heat production of laying pullets of the Lohmann LSL strain. The test will be carried out in respirometric chambers, starting with the birds from the first week of age to 21 weeks of age, at this age only birds that have not yet entered into production will be considered. The procedure will be performed with two repetitions for each week. The number of birds to be used in the respirometric chambers will change depending on the weight of the birds, starting with 12 birds per chamber (week 1) to 6 birds per chamber (week 21). Statistical analyzes will be performed using the SAS software version 9.2.
