Abstract The objective of this study will be to evaluate in vitro a new bleaching agent containing nanoparticles of Sodium trimetaphosphate (TMP) associated with sodium fluoride (F) and 17.5% hydrogen peroxide about aesthetic effectiveness, surface hardness, and roughness of tooth enamel. The whitening gels will be applied on bovine tooth discs, according to the groups: 1) 17.5% hydrogen peroxide (17.5% H2O2); 2) H2O2 + 0.1% NaF (H2O2/F); 3) H2O2 + 1% TMP nano (H2O2/TMP); 4) H2O2 + 0.1%NaF + 1% TMP nano (H2O2/F/TMP) and 5) 35% hydrogen peroxide (35% H2O2). the whitening gel will be applied once in 3 sessions of 7 days each, after the treatment period the change will be evaluated(at different times) by quantified reflection spectrophotometry. It will also be determined the initial and after treatment (final) surface hardness, and the roughness of the dental enamel before and after the bleaching procedure. Variables that present normal and homogeneous distribution will be submitted to analysis of variance (p<0.05). Otherwise, they will be submitted to the Kruskal Wallis test (p<0.05).
