Abstract

Premature Ovarian Failure (IOP) is characterized by the loss of ovarian function in women under 40 years of age. It presents itself with menstrual irregularity or amenorrhea due to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (FSH levels>25UI/L, in two separate tests).Justification: Literature on knowledge by health professionals, women, and their partners about diagnosis, symptoms, physical and psychological repercussions, and treatment of IOP is scarce. The results of this study can guide awareness strategies for health professionals, women, and their partners, helping with adherence to treatment and the quality of care available. Objective: to assess the knowledge of physicians, women with IOP, and their partners about IOP. Methods: application of specific questionnaires for three distinct groups (health professionals working in the field of gynecology, women diagnosed with IOP, and their partners). It will be a study with a convenience sample where it is estimated the inclusion of about 250 gynecologists, 100 women diagnosed with IOP, and their partners. Data analysis: To describe the profile of the sample, frequency tables of categorical variables will be made, with absolute frequency (n) and percentage (%) values, and descriptive statistics of numerical variables, with mean values, standard deviation, minimum values, and maximum, median and quartiles. For the analysis of agreement between the answers of the woman and her partner, the kappa coefficient will be used for categorical variables and the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) for numerical variables. The significance level adopted for the statistical tests will be 5%, that is, p<0.05. The statistical software for performing the analysis will be SAS version 9.4. (AU)
