Abstract

Bladder cancer is a histological type classified as urothelial carcinoma. Its development when limited to the lining cells of the bladder urothelium is called superficial since the type of bladder cancer classified as invasive cancer begins in the transition cells and can spread through the organs or lymph nodes. The patient who develops invasive bladder cancer requires a cystectomy, which is considered the gold standard treatment for this type of neoplasia. However, this procedure has a significant impact on the quality of life of patients, in addition to representing very high costs for the health system of our country, which reveals the urgency and the importance of studies and research, in order to obtain new knowledge. , mainly for treatment and prevention, contributing to science and the well-being of the general population. MiRNAs are located in chromosomal regions that are frequently altered in cancer, whereas miRNAs that promote the process of carcinogenesis are called "oncomiRs", and those that inhibit this process are called tumor suppressor miRNAs. In recent studies, it has been shown that there is a loss of miR-10a expression in gastric cancer tissues and that inhibition of this miR promotes metastasis in neuroblastoma cell lines. Thus, it is speculated a possible role of potential tumor suppression on the part of this miR. The literature is scarce in relation to the role of miR-10th in urological tumors and the present study aims to understand the role of 10th and its possible protective role in the T24 lineage of bladder cancer through migration and invasion tests.
