Abstract

This research seeks to investigate the new theoretical propositions about the body, sex, sexuality and gender, which emerged in the second half of the 20th century with the second wave feminist movement and the queer movement, interpreting them through the lens of contemporary visual arts practices. For this, the project uses an authorial production in performance and alternative photographic processes, as well as bibliographic and iconographic analyses. This is an exploratory qualitative research, experimental and theoretical-practical, which aims to reflect, poetically and procedurally, on the performative power of the queer transvesty, transgressive and subversive body in contemporary arts.
