Abstract

This research aims to do a sociological analyze the South Korean television dramas, better known as k-dramas, seeking to investigate how gender relations are constructed in this cultural product. Conceiving the audiovisual as a representation, we will try to understand how gender relations are built and how they contribute to an education of the gazing on the persons. Methodologically, we will make use of an interdisciplinary bibliography that covers the Sociology of Art and Cinema, Cultural and Audiovisual Studies, in dialogue with Gender Studies. It is expected, with this research, to expand the range of possibilities for the use of images as research material in Social Sciences and Education. (AU)
