Abstract

Studies have pointed to the relevance of the family farming women's role in managing the soil in a way that simultaneously guarantees food security for their families and preserves the quality of cultivated soils. In this sense, this research proposes an ethnoecological study on the perceptions of women from Quilombo Campo Grande (MG) with regard to caring for the land. The main objective of this work is to identify and understand the perception and knowledge of quilombola women regarding land care in order to propose soil conservation techniques that consider local social, cultural, ethnic, and economic contexts. Data collection will be divided into two stages: in the first, semi-structured individual interviews and focus groups will be conducted to capture women's perceptions about aspects related to the soil; the second stage will consist of the systematization of soil management through a model for monitoring agroecological practices. The data will be analyzed according to predefined analytical categories with the support of appropriate software. Thus, it is intended that the research collaborates with studies on the development of agroecological management of soils. (AU)
