Abstract

Our objective is to investigate the intersections between the didatization and entertainment movements in the constitution of the video lesson genre, starting from the hypothesis that, due to the social, cultural and discursive situation in which it appears, as well as the environment in which it circulates, the intersection of such movements is characteristic of the very formation of the genre and, therefore, will be found at all levels of the construction of its utterances. To undertake this research, we will draw on the Bakhtinian theory, with emphasis on the concepts of thematic content, compositional construction and style, elements that define the discursive genre according to Bakhtin. The chosen corpus comprises ten video lessons of the Hora do Enem program, which is part of a federal project launched in 2016 to prepare young people at the end of high school for Enem. These video lessons are available on YouTube and are divided into five video lessons from the beginning of the channel (2016/2017) and five recent video lessons (second semester of 2019), in order to build a corpus as representative as possible of the genre, as well as to enable a diachronic vision of its phenomena. The relevance of this study is highlighted by the pandemic that hit the world in 2020 and that restricted the communicative possibilities of the educational environment, forcing it to seek new ways to reach its students through the use of the digital medium, which is still recent. Therefore, the investigation of the digital educational genres is a pressing issue today, since it can help and promote this process of updating formal education to contemporary learning practices.
