Abstract

In this project, we propose to develop and test a new computational platform for droplet dynamics of complex fluids. In particular, we are interested in problems such as the spreading of a droplet, and the coalescence or collision between droplets. Complex fluid models will be considered, such as yield-stress or elastoviscoplastic fluids. These numerical simulations will be used alongside experimental tests in order to validate the code and to provide a deeper understanding of the droplet dynamics. (AU)
