Abstract

The development of society allowed for several advances and greater access to industrialized products. This evolution produced an important adverse effect and recently identified, the evolution of the industry intensified the production and use of chemical compounds that, in addition to being pollutants in the environment, interfere in the metabolic activity of humans and animals, known as endocrine disruptors. This is a public health problem and should be the focus of attention in pollutant control studies. In this sense, this project aims to apply the processes of oxidation by hydrogen peroxide and photo-degradation, associated in a single process, for the degradation of di-butyl phthalate. To monitor the degradation process will be used liquid chromatography, organic carbon analyzer and mass spectrometry and in this sense, the main expected results may present parameters that allow the synergism between the use of H2O2 and photo-catalysts to obtain degradation processes with the lowest power consumption.
