Abstract

In December 2019, new pneumonia emerged, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes the infectious respiratory disease COVID-19. Due to the heterogeneity of its presentation and not a complete understanding of the course of the disease, the search for clinical information such as tracking the cardiovascular profile, especially at the beginning of hospitalization, can result in an important translation of the health outcomes in these patients. Objectives: to evaluate the cardiovascular profile in the initial period of hospitalization for SARS-CoV-2 infection in hospitalized patients and to verify its ability to discriminate positive and negative clinical outcomes. Methods: observational, retrospective, and documentary study. The sample will consist of patients admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and the assessment of the cardiovascular profile will be made from the 1st to the 5th day of hospitalization according to the signs: 1) systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP); 2) average BP; 3) heart rate (HR) and % predicted HR; 4) double product and; 7) pulse pressure. Hypothesis and expected results: The variability of the cardiovascular profile will present a good clinical performance with regard to the early detection of positive and negative outcomes, and the worst cardiovascular profile will have a positive association with negative clinical outcomes and clinical parameters in patients hospitalized with COVID-19.(AU)
