Abstract

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that it has several systemic and oral manifestations such as hyposalivation, periodontitis, xerostomia, and halitosis from the release of volatile sulfur compounds (CSVs), however, there are no studies evaluating CSVs and their impact on the quality of life (QL) of us with LES. Therefore, the objective of this study will be to identify the CSVs and the impact of oral health in the QoL of .com SLE and compare them with no disease systemic grave. The sample will be divided into two groups, a group of 30 belonging with a confirmed diagnosis of SLE and the other containing 30 people without severe systemic disease. The groups will be matched in gender and age and all created by halimetry by measuring the CSVs using the Oral Chroma TM equipment, in addition, will be taken for self-perception of halitosis, the severity of xerostomia, stimulated and non-stimulated salivary flow stimulated, lingual biofilm index, evaluation of caries activity, periodontal evaluation, and the impact of oral health on QOL in the OHIP-14 questionnaire. Data will be tabulated in spreadsheets and will be considered a level of statistical significance of 5% (p & lt; 0.05). Descriptive analysis will be performed through the mean, median, percentage; normality of data will be analyzed by the Shapiro Wilk test, for the legal association of the tests here Square or Fisher's exact test, for comparison will be the Student's T or Mann-Whitney tests and correlations will be analyzed by Pearson or Spearman.(AU)
