Abstract

Primary Health Care (PHC) is considered (co)organizer of care in the Health Care Network (RAS) and must be guided by the guiding principles of the Unified Health System (SUS): universality, integrality, and equity. Thus, this project aims to understand the influences of the referral and counter-referral system on longitudinal care in PHC. This is a descriptive-exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, developed as a continuation of the Scientific Initiation project (process no. 20/07203-8) and based on the identified gaps. Data will be collected through individual interviews with health professionals from the secondary and tertiary levels in a municipality in the state of São Paulo, as well as municipal managers and the municipal regulatory sector. Interviews will be analyzed using thematic content analysis and findings will be interpreted and discussed with researchers from the Department of Family Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada. All ethical aspects of human research will be respected. It is expected, based on the findings of this research, to understand the weaknesses and potentialities of the referral and counter-referral system of the RAS from the perspective of health workers and managers and its influence on the longitudinal care in PHC.(AU)
