Abstract

Clinical diagnosis is composed of anamnesis, physical examination, and complementary exams, and during this process there may be failures by both health professionals and patients. To formulate the diagnosis, the only means available are knowledge, identification and appreciation of the patient's signs and symptoms. The aim of this study is to verify the self-perception of patients seen in the clinics of Dentistry Courses about their oral health and the importance of consulting a dentist, as well as the level of knowledge about diagnosis and the importance given by dentists to the steps of the diagnostic process. This is a descriptive observational study of a qualitative nature with the objective of verify, through data collection through questionnaires. The questionnaires will be applied to patients and dentists, and the data will be analyzed with the Google Forms platform, through frequencies.(AU)
