Abstract

The present scientific initiation project is based on the importance of comprehensive critical approaches to life, that is, in the comprehensive knowledge of existence, in such a way that the work Crime and Punishment is taken as an object, in order to establish a parallel between the real world and the world of the character in the novel in question. In this way, we analyze how Raskolnikóv had his moral code permeated by power - from a Foucauldian perspective - to the point of being taken to confession and confusing punishment with redemption. To do so, the disciplining processes of individuals and the pressure of power over bodies, which is able to shape their actions and - beyond that - their very thoughts, are addressed, by means of a material-historical analysis of the period in which Russia found itself at the time of elaboration and publication of the novel.(AU)
