Abstract

The use of cadavers for surgical training is increasing worldwide. For this, they must be chemically preserved or they cannot be kept for a long time at room temperature due to deterioration. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze, biomechanically and microbiologically, the stomach and intestines of chemically prepared and vacuum-packed dogs' corpses, aiming at teaching veterinary surgery. We hope to develop a model of anatomical parts chemically prepared in isolation, instead of the entire cadaver, generating an economy of products, less biological disposal, and better use of carcasses, which also benefit the environment.(AU)
