Abstract

The state-of-art in battery electrolytes uses organic solvent as a medium for the alkali ions to move from one electrode to another. For safety reasons, there is an urge to move from these liquid electrolytes to solid electrolytes. There are many different polymeric films proposed to be used in Li-ion batteries, but their use of them with Li metal is yet to be better understood. Finding an appropriate solid electrolyte for Li electrochemistry will help to establish the use of different technologies, such as Li-metal, Li-Sulphur, and Li-O2 batteries.(AU)
