Abstract This project has as central themes issues that are in the contemporary political scenario: populism, anti-pluralism and democratic crisis. We propose to investigate the political thinking that shapes the populist movement that has caused the erosion, if not the complete destruction, of established democratic constitutional regimes. For this, we assume the provisional validity of Jan-Werner Müller's idea: populism would be essentially anti-pluralist. Then, we will make a detailed analysis of Carl Schmitt's political thought, in order to explore the relevance of Schmitt's political thought as a tool for understanding the current populist wave. | |
