Abstract DUNE is an experiment based on Liquid Argon Time Projection Chambers (LArTPCs) dedicated to the study of neutrino physics. The X-ARAPUCA is a device that will be used in DUNE for the detection of scintillation light. This work will consist in using the software Geant4 to computationally simulate an experimental setup made of a liquid argon cryostat in which an X-ARAPUCA supercell and a source of alpha radiation are inserted. The device shall detect scintillation light from interactions between the alpha particles and the liquid argon. The comparison between the experimental and computational spectrum of photons detected per alpha particle will allow the determination of the total detection efficiency.(AU) | |
