Abstract

Our research proposal is to analyze the phenomenon of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon, specifically in the Triunfo do Xingu Environmental Protection Area, in the state of Pará. Studies about the the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest are currently a pressing need, in the light of geography (of territory uses) and the technological instruments used in this area of knowledge, we intend to investigate deforestation in the APA region in question, through the analysis of NDVI indices calculated from orbital images of the SENTINEL-2 satellite (from 2015 to 2021), data that we will analyze qualitatively supported by secondary sources. The main objective is to investigate the relationship between deforestation and real land speculation: the land conceived and used as a store of value. (AU)
