Abstract

This project aims to assess the effects of Haas and MacNamara appliances on the positioning of the hyoid bone. The aim of the study is to assess whether there is a change in the position of the hyoid bone with both appliances and the differences between them when present. The study will include a sample of 40 children with skeletal crossbite with an indication for the use of the appliance, between the ages of 9 to 11 years, which will be divided into 2 groups, one that will use the Haas appliance (n of 20 ) and the other the MacNamara appliance (20). The position of the hyoid bone will be assessed before and after containing the disjunction using cephalometric measurements. The data obtained will be subjected to statistical analysis.(AU)
